Good Food is the certified exporter of one of the oldest and biggest Medjoul plantations in Israel, who have been growing premium healthy dates for decades. 130 hectares of dates have been growing in the region since biblical times as the geography and climate are ideal for date production. The high standard packing house that sorts and packs a massive 2200 ton Medjool dates per year supports the high market demand.
Throughout history Medjool dates were considered the “King’s Treat”, gracing only the tables of Arabia’s royal palaces. Today they are a rapidly growing choice as a sweet but healthy, vegan snack. Our Medjool dates are harvested after maturing and are naturally sun-dried. They are then quickly cooled in order to lock in their natural moist freshness. This process also extends the shelf life of this amazing fruit.
Good Food are renowned for their quality Medjool dates. The growing environment in the Jordan Valley is historically the most natural growing condition for the produce. To ensure the dates are of the highest quality they are grown in a sustainable way using an automatic fertiliser and water management system. The plantation works according to the Global GAP certification system. The sorting and packing plants adhere to strict safety and quality assurances such as BRC, HACCP USDA ORGANIC.

A Little Bit of History
In 1980 the planting of the first sapling took place, starting the journey into becoming one of Israel’s largest date orchards. In those early days, it was common to manually sort and pack dates, but their growing cooperative needs led them to seek new solutions, making them among the first packaging facilities to initialize the shift from all manual to a technology-based sorting process and the first to complete this transition.
