A Little Bit of History
In the early days, Noam Urim produced filling material for blankets, coats, and other textile products. However, in 1987, the plant was completely destroyed by fire. After the plant was rebuilt, it focused on the production of nonwoven fabrics.
In 2005, 51% of the plant’s ownership was acquired by “Shalag” from Kibbutz Shamir, a nonwovens global leader in carded thermo-bonded and air-through bonded technologies and now manufactures a wide range of products, in a variety of basis weights; from as low as 9 gsm all the way to 140 gsm.
Today, Noam Urim is a global leader in the production of nonwoven fabrics in a variety of needle-punched nonwoven fabrics of weights from 80 up to 2000 gsm.
